BC-507 and 509 Dacs

There doesn't seem to be any external difference between these two models--no silkscreening that I can see from pix. Do you have to open up the units to determine this? Thanks!

Check the back of the unit - and the serial number... should tell you there...

and the most obvious answer - if the box is 8x8, then bc509. If the box is 8x16 (double the depth), then bc507. Then it is a matter of which power supply for the BC507 - caps (NB), or batteries (BA).

I found the manual but wondering if the configuration on the DAC is something of an anomaly. No USB port but 2 Toslink inputs. Must have been a custom order.
But somewhat odd perhaps not to have a USB input.

The USB input is an add-on option. Standard configuration is one Toslink, one RCA and one XLR input. Keep in mind that most (maybe all?) Blue Circle products are made to order, configured according to the buyer's specifications.
