Re: Adjustable tube hybrids -- what are your experiences?
Look at this from a distortion standpoint, part of "musicality" is "warmth" = distortion. Correct me if I am wrong, but some of the bad aspects of distortion can be moderated by a little feedback...in a good way. I have no idea if Gilbert does this. He probably has some other approach.

Hi, Mac.....a GBC100 is one of six different models of outboard power supplies in a piple that Blue Circle makes. These are designed to be used with this new headphone amp and several other models like the li'l 703 and all the FLT phono stages. They can also be used as outboard power supplies (with...

We have already been making custom headphone amp for HE6 based on the NSL. Since it demands 5watt into 50 ohms, it require a slight higher rail voltage than the NSL can put out. The NSL itself can drive be used as a 28 watt into 8 ohms amplifier to drive any headphone without adapter. But that shou...

NSL Headphone amp?
Have you given any thought to this, Gilbert? Could it be designed to meet the current needs of many of the flagship cans and wide variations in impedances for ore traditional cans, such as K7xx series and HD650?[/u]

We don't hear live music, or even the live studio version of live music. We hear recorded music: what's on the record, tape or disc, not the actual presentation. The mind has to do the transfer from the medium back to the stage. That's why we don't all agree, except when we hear crap recordings! I m...

Well, Gilbert...can you answer my question(s)? And can you tell me, if it will work OK with the SBH preamp you recently built for me that I added to the PS and cap pack? This preamp works very well with my 45 (tube) monos. It's pretty neutral and the bandwidth of the whole system is pretty wide, goo...

Has anyone heard the BC1002. How would you compare the sound to the FtTH2, which I have heard? Please cover all the "bands" - bass, mids, treble, balance and degree of color and sound stage. If you can, can you compare it to any transistor output stage amp (bi-polar, Jfet, Mosfet). Bob Neill, the Cr...

Re: HX
I wonder how long it will be before we're all converted back to solid state. We've become so used to the enriched sound of tubes, even just as inputs, that solid state, even extremely good solid state, initially sounds too cool and lean to us. But if the solid state really is good enough, we can ad...
