Anne Bisson

Highly recommend that you check out Anne Bisson, beautiful voice, and piano skills out of Quebec. I was lucky enough to sit and chat with her at the Toronto TAVES show. Her first CD was done by Rene Laflamme for FIDELIO Records..it's a KILLER recording ! Her latest (Portraits and Perfumes) is on the Universal label.

Thanks DD for mentioning her. I didn't know she had a new release and it's on order.

BTW, Guy St-Onge who produced her latest CD has his mastering studio near our family cottage in the small village of St-Calixte, North of Montreal. You should see his set-up...!!!!

I can only imagine that Guy's mastering space is pretty damned fine.. ! 8)

I've always found the FIDELIO discs to be technically brialliant.. even if some of the content doesn't always float my boat.

A disappointing new arrival this week. Nowhere near the performance of "Blue Mind". Her selection of songs is interesting but her rendition is just too 'out there' and a bit of a stretch.

The recording itself is flawless. Typical Guy St-Onge mastering. Hope she's does better next time around. I really can't recommend it. And that's really too bad because she has a beautiful voice.

After reading your post in the system forum, I decided to give Anne Bisson a listen since it has been awhile.

"Blue mind" is a real gem and I should make an effort to listen to it more often.

However, my opinion of "Portraits and Perfumes" hasn't change. It's one of those "WTF was Guy St-Onge thinking...?"

I just ordered her new release ( August 2014) and apparently she decided to go back to her roots. I'll get back to you.

"Tales" is definitely better than "Portraits"... but "Blue Mind" is still her best effort to date.
At least her vocal styling is unique, and a standout amongst so many cookie cutter wannabe's anymore..

Definitely an improvement over "Perfume..." She is now recording with Les Studios Opus and mastering with Lab Mastering in Montreal.

Overall. very nice. Worth buying.
