BC system pic of someone

Post by Gilbert Y » Wed Mar 07, 2007 10:33 am

A customer asked me to post this for him. He will join in with the fun after. I especially like the Bee Bee (the beagle) standing on top of the table.

Could you comment on placement for of the Beagle for maximum effect? I'm not quite sure where my beagle is best used, and I think he might be a little bigger than your beagle. Maybe Walt would like to have some input on this as well...

I will defer to Chris since that is his system...

But that is not an easy question to answer. You see Beagle placement is tricky. First your beagle needs to be between 18-24lbs.

For a smoother, more liquid sound the beagle should sit upright.

For more detail and better edge definition a standing beagle is best.

As with anything beagle placement is a compromise.

Hmmmmmmmm...yes I can see that placement would be very important. I think I will experiment extensively over the next few days to see if I can gain a greater understanding of the parameters of proper Beagle placement. If possible, I will take some pictures and let interested parties guess as to what sonic benfits were enjoyed by each Beagle placement. Part of the issue is that my Beagle does not like to be "placed", rather, he much prefers to "place" himself.

Hello Blue Circle Gang,

I am BeeBee's owner esoxhntr, and I think placement is often dependent on the beagle's independent suspension system. BeeBee's consists of four paws and a mind of her own. So she decides best location for optimum dampening effect. When she finds it she sits down and lets out a nice little vibrato howl !
Hope this helps.

Very nice system -- and canine companion for that matter :D

I'd be a bit concerned with traces of residual organic dampening left behind. Granted it's not any more risk than with young kids. Perhaps less in some cases. :)

Cheers,
Bish

No fear of residual bish, BB is competely Blue Circle broke and so is her owner. BB does have a thing for chewing on blue leather couches walt,so I keep a close eye on her.
Thanks for positive feedback from all. The listening pleasure has escalated to a pretty high level now that the system's had time to burn in.

 What a FAB looking rig !!

This makes me want mono blocks again ! ARRRRRRRRGH ! 8)

As for the Beagle tuning device.. the relative position of the dog vs: the tail will have a direct impact on the spatial qualities for a given listening session

I'm with Walt on this one.. best place for (any) dog is on the couch beside you when listening :D

BC gear mates much better wirh spendor than beagles. But seriously, I don't have another speaker in the house to compare to and help define this particular match. The research and feedback that I gathered suggested a BC/Spendor match to work very well. I think to give a more informed answer, more listening experience is needed on my part. I will say that my listening pleasure and involvement is as high as it's ever been.

I hope you'll keep us posted on your listening sessions.. :D

Ironically.. the SP100 is one of those speakers I lusted after many years ago, after I owned a pair of Rogers Studio 1's ... but the big Spendors weren't readily available in the Great STupid North  so.. I moved on in other directions. But I've always had a soft spot for Rogers/Spendor speakers.. 8) Great system ! :P

All the Spendors that I heard ,have nailed it to the heart of the music, unlike many so called ''high-end speakers" that seem to give you "details ,details, details" with no emotion.

I am sure you are in heaven right now :D
