Any chance of BC going to the Montreal or even the Toronto show with these speakers? :) It's like deja-vu all over again    Needlessly, in my opinion - especially since you and I have discussed how it would be possible to hear these in your system. Yes, the logistics are com...

Well, at the risk of de-railing the thread... I'm about 2 weeks in with the AAD Silver Reference 7 speakers. After playing with placement, I'm really getting an idea of their capabilities. They are likely a little on the big side for my room, but the ability to tune the speakers using foam to plug s...

AAD speakers

Okay, I've been living with the silver reference 1 and 5 for a while, but have also been waiting for them to settle in for a bit, and for my ears to clear out from a bad head cold. The short version is this - they are really quite good, but when you figure in the price they are even better than that...

Hi Gilbert thanks for answering...i did read the 509 posts, and though the descriptions are there I can't get a sense of how the 509 compares to other dacs for example say a softish bottom end dac like the SFD SF2, but with holographic midrange or compared to a counterpoint dac 10 (timbrally correc...

BC507

Well, I can only speak with reference to other Blue Circle gear, but the BC507 is a real winner. It has all of the tonal capabilities of the SBD (a very good DAC itself), but is much more decisive and articulate, and very smooth. It really takes a large step towards the capabilities of the BC501. At...

Hi Joao,

Please re-read my original post. I put 507 in the first sentence and meant 509 - it makes more sense now. In short, the BC507 will do what you want; keeping the smoothness but adding more clarity and detail.

Not wanting to "dis up" the SBD - a nice DAC in it's own right - the 509 stands pretty much shoulder to shoulder with it. Preference would boil down to your taste - the SBD is a little smoother and laid back, the 509 is a little more open, dynamic, and detailed. The 507 is simply a better unit - smo...

Agreed. A shorter form of this... listening out of phase will make most music sound a little screwed up, indefinite bass, funny imaging, less resolution of detail. It will not damage your gear, but might mess with your head.???? and experient with power cords as well (certainly don't even th...

Okay, a few words on the SBI... Short version, it's good. Considering the price, it's damned good. Not an easy comparison between it and the CS. The CS has more power, and tends to sound a little darker. The SBI has a slightly livelier sound, and better detail. I think I slightly prefer the SBI, tho...

Call it the Thingee Platter, or an "Oil Refinery", or "Moon Base Alpha", or whatever, be aware that this preamp is no joke. I've heard it side by side with the BC3000 GZPZ, and it competes. No, it's not better - in fact it's not quite as good, but it's not far off either. Incredible performa...

It's official all right, and it performs WAY beyond it's pricing. As far as I can tell, this "headphone amp with preamp outs" is a lot more like a "preamp with a nice headphone section". Pair this sucker up with an upgraded power supply and throw it in front of the SB90T or SB100S, and you'v...
