Don, Which Harbeth speakers most impressed you with 200 series amps? Thanks This is a Blue Circle forum so it would not be appropriate for me to discuss speakers here other than the Penny, which I have not heard but those who have, speak well of them. You can email me at westcoastaudio@shaw.ca if y...

I have not had any bad speaker/amp experiences with Blue Circle.

I remember when I lived in Kitchener we bi-amped my Beveridge speakers with 4 BC2 monoblocks. The only downside on that occasion was blown circuit breakers due to the current draw.

I agree with Attilio on the Harbeth Super HL5's.

As a Harbeth dealer I have had the opportunity to use them with the entire line, incuding the new Monitor 40.1.

This is an outstanding amp in every way.

Re: Question about how tubes are implemented in BC 3000 Mk I

I mean does one tube do one thing for both channels, and the other tube something else? Or does one tube work for one channel and the other for the other channel? Cheers. Each tube is used for both channels. That's why you can use different make tubes... both channels see the same thing. Another ad...

I expect that it likely had more to do with your "head space" at the time you were listening. If you are alert, relaxed and attentive, the listening experience is heightened. The recording, the volume level, lack of stress in your life can all have a bearing on how things sound. Have you ever had yo...

The threaded thing on the top looks like a 75 ohm connector. Could this be an FM tuner?

To me the Merlin VSM always sounded on the bright side. This does give the impression of more detail but becomes fatiguing on extended listening. I am less familiar with the TSM however do have a friend who has a pair and found he listened to music less and less. He now has completely restored Spend...

On the first cut of the Mark Knopfler/Emmylou Harris CD there is a mandolin in the background. It was very faint through the Guanari. He was using a Sun Audio tube amp and kept changing tubes to get the sound right. At times it was a bit bright sounding then he'd swap in a couple of different tubes...

Having owned very early 15 ohm Rogers LS3/5a's until just recently I can say without hesitation they would fit your bill to a tee. I also have a client who collects LS3/5a's and often brings over various one's for me to hear. I like the Rogers and Chartwell's very much. The Harbeth LS3/5a ( Not the...

Then exhange rate, tax, shipping, and brokerage fees.
Probably cost $2000 in the end.

I will pass on new ones,
Nick :)
As they are not manufactured in the US you'd need to pay 6.5% import duty as well.
