My Sonic Tonic - Act I: AAbGYD NSI-G Review
It was a really cold winter this year...seemed to start in October in Central NY, and as of this review IT IS STILL HERE. Given the length of the season and minimal available outdoor activities, I was able to really sit down and listen to my system with probably more of a critical ear than I have ha...

Re: Mr. Masluck
This has the distinctive sound of preemptively defensive knickers in a twist. If one prefers enriched and deeply saturated colors and other forms of romanticism to what instruments actually sound like, he need not tilt about at imagined purists, he can just spin the variable harmonic distortion inj...

Re: Adjustable tube hybrids -- what are your experiences?
Hi, As an owner of an adjustable hybrid for close to 2 years, I can provide my observations and rational for asking Gilbert to take a standard BC 2k4sh and build a one of a kind adjustable hybrid amplifier - based upon his exploratory work with the BC 307 preamp. First off, to set the stage and get ...

Re: NSI - the first impressions
Great review George!! Hey, can you snap some pics of the amp and post them here? Also, it is great to see GilBut offer the Tube/SS summing circuit that he built into my custom 2K4sh - it truly gives you complete control and on mine I can completely shut off the tube section (which is 6SN7 as well) i...

Ads and exposing asking price
Good Evening BC Nation, I really enjoy reviewing the ads for BC gear I may wish to purchase within the "Buy & Sell" section of the BC Forum. Is it too much to ask to include the asking price versus a request to contact the seller/dealer? Most of the time it is included, but for some ads it is not. F...

Re: Long time lurker checking in with a thank you!
Hey Clave, Hmmmmm...man, I hear ya, but the Matsushita's sound far from "strained" in my rig. Actually, I would need a better definition around the term "strained" I guess. I find them to be pretty darn wet sounding and came as a recommendation from long time BC'er K-Dub, who in my opinion, has a ve...

Re: Long time lurker checking in with a thank you!
Hi Jake, What a thoughtful thing to say. I would agree with others on the music truth statements. I think a lot of us can afford to buy some nice kit, but I am in my 18th year as a BC owner and don't desire any other brand (and I have heard plenty of them). As for tubes, I have spent considerable ti...

Re: A New Power Amplifier Prototype
Oh I agree... I think tube power amps are a challenge for a lot of reasons. I have always (except when I was in my teens) had tube preamps and SS amps. To me a blended sound model worked best and still does (at least to these ears). What I was getting at is that at least BC still makes hybrid amps a...

Re: A New Power Amplifier Prototype
Very cool!!
I saw that amp in pieces when I was over to Innerkip a few weeks back, and asked Gilbert what he was up to with it. Great to see evolution of the hybrid designs, as I am tube guy at heart (make no apologies for it either )

Good Evening, One of my all-time favorite female singers...from the 2003 Newport Jazz Fest. I actually saw her perform at the Rochester International Jazz Fest two years ago...one of those moments in a live performance that you you just say woooooow!!! Enjoy!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTxan2...

Re: Masluck's System
Hey Mike, Yes, they are awesome. I have a 36Hz null mode at the listening position and without the subs on it is very noticeable - even with the mighty bass kings the AAD Ref 7's. The subs, plus the bass traps in each corner allow me to brute force that 36Hz frequency boost, and they integrate seaml...
