Re: NSI G, First Report

As always, Bob, you set a high bar for precisely describing your subjective experience of audio equipment. I enjoy reading your descriptions even though I'm not in the market for new (and really really expensive) gear. Perhaps if I heard this new amp I would feel my life incomplete without it, so it...

Re: Long time lurker checking in with a thank you!

As a new member of the Blue Circle family, one thing you'll find is that this forum is only intermittently active, like a volcano. I suspect this is partly because the equipment is so good that nobody has anything to complain about. Anyway, regarding tubes, as I noted in a post above, I was happiest...

Re: NSW

This is funny. Unfortunately for life on this forum, Gilbert's gear is too good. There's nothing to complain about and no steady stream of "upgrades" to discuss, and there's no need for tweaks. So what's to talk about?

Re: Long time lurker checking in with a thank you!

Hi, Jake. Welcome to the club, or whatever you want to call it. Your comments about what sets BC gear apart are on the money, from my experience. Regarding 6922 type tubes, the ones I always kept in the longest (besides the stock 6922EH my preamp came with) were the Amperex 7308, which are not hard ...

Man, that's one badass looking preamp. The color scheme is very classy. Fits right in with the decor of the restaurant. I like the simplicity of my two-wooden knob integrated, but there's something to be said for having lots of shiny knobs to play with. Did you ever great strange looks because you w...

It goes between source and pre-amp?

Never mind, question answered. I’m intrigued by this product. Normally I avoid putting extra components in the signal chain, but this may prove an exception.

The USB input is an add-on option. Standard configuration is one Toslink, one RCA and one XLR input. Keep in mind that most (maybe all?) Blue Circle products are made to order, configured according to the buyer's specifications.

Gilbert, you the man. It seems to me that you are true to yourself and therefore able to be honest with others. I don't know what else anyone would want. Well, I do know (cf. American politics), but prefer not to think about it. The jackets and shoes are genius.

Sounds awesome. It will be nice to have the flexibility of being able to control the level of tube magic in the mix. If there is another audio engineer who will persevere in order to make one's back of the napkin desire into reality (for a sane price), I'd like to know who it is.

I second that! I've had nothing but good experience with both the gear and the company. Gilbert does amazing things, and he does them the right way (and his own way). Can't say I've been there since the beginning, but I did have a BC 6 in the early 2000's.

Puckin' A, dude

Since we're doing the customer review/testimonial thing . . . A few days ago I put a PLC puck in place (in front of a BC30x1 with a 6x silycone thingee) and I am quite amazed at the improvement. I'd say it's made my system sound 15 percent better, maybe more. Everything sounds smoother, more dimensi...

I can answer the first question for you because I own a 30x1. There is no DC offset built in. Whether it can be added the BC folks will have to answer for you.

Best,
Matt
