First piece: CS integrated. Read lots of positive comments about it online. Mainly that it sounded better than the Sim I3 and Bryston B60 I was looking at. Read every review and forum post I could. Then re read them a few times. :) Asked some questions on some forums. Talked to a dealer and ordered ...

Can you hear a difference?
If so how much of one?
And what do you treat (IC's? speaker cables..., power..)?
How long does it last, etc..

Cheers,
N.

Ethernet isn't critical to me. It's just that you can use longer lenghts of ethernet than USB cable. I could keep the PC farther away from the stereo that way. What about using a dedicated machine (laptop)?. Then you could have it right beside the rig. Thats what I do and it works well, and its sup...

Re: New DAC in the PIPELINE?

Is there a new USB DAC in the pipeline (not necessarily a PVC pipeline) At first I was going to say, there is a dac in a pipe. The thingee.... But then I realized you meant your stand alone dac. Your wink & gentle nudge might of been too gentle... :) Curious why you are wanting ethernet again? Why ...

Re: SBT and SBM combo

I don't really know what it is.. Sometimes I sit in front of my system and I'm amazed @ what I hear. Other times I'm not. (70 good/30 not so good) That's when the urge make a change creeps in. What are you not happy with? Also what are you using for a source? Do you power conditioning etc? BTW: Car...

It does work. You just need to remove the [IMG] tags.

It's also probably the most tweaked out CS I have seen. All stainless and cones. :) Looks good.

Never tried the tube you are referring too.

Stock from the factory are now electro harmonix.
I hear good things about the gold pin version. Apparently helps smooth out the highs a little more. I am going to order 4 and give them a try.

Cheers,

No worries DD. Fair enough. :)
Best of luck on your digital journey.
Interested in hearing your thoughts on the OB.

After some consideration, I think I may try to hear a 840 and see. Otherwise I'm just going to save until I get a new dac. (501 at the top of the list).

thanks all.

Thanks for the info DD. I find my current system a pretty good balance of things (BC3/24/Aerius-i). If anything it could be a more forward, but not much. Perhaps the 840 would play nice? If it's everything people say, that could be a good thing. But I also must say, I love the wadia, and have become...

Or did you have something else in mind? :)

Wow, lots of things to respond to now. I try and keep each one short. masluck: I am a believer in break in as well. Thank you for your comments and experience with yours. I would really like to hear one, and compare it to my wadia. Julian: I do have a music server. It's a dedicated MacBookPro and US...

Transport died. Looking at some options

Hello All (and DD, please read on, there is a question for you specifically). Well, my parasound/CEC transport died. So i'm looking at some options. It is very possible that the parts for repair are not available. My Dac is a Wadia Digimaster X32. And oldie, but a goodie. I really really liked the c...
